After selecting the style, material grade and material colour we can add up to 4 colour print to ensure you have the solution you need.
The European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) is a non-profit organisation representing the interests of the industry across Europe and addressing a wide range of issues, from technical topics to economic questions.
FEFCO created a recognised library of box styles that help assist packaging companies and their customers. When starting a new project always consider whether a pre-existing box style can be used or whether you need a bespoke approach from the start. The Box Factory’s team of box design experts can help when considering the best options for your product.
Industry standard box, the most common type of regular case used and often referred to as a carton. Flaps on the top and bottom which meet in the middle and require taping. This type of packaging is available as a standard design or can be customised as a starting point for an SRP (shelf-ready packaging).
The five-panel wrap is a flat pack, suitable for packing products that are very narrow and require one or more very narrow panels.
This style of box is self-locking and when assembled forms a strong die cut box.
The codes correlate to different styles of boxes and packaging.
Get to know them and discover which one is right for your application to narrow down your search.
These standard styles are a great place to start but if you want something more bespoke then click here to complete our enquiry form, fill in a few details and we will be in touch to discuss further.
We can create bespoke packaging solutions or we can tweak FEFCO designs to suit the boxes and packaging you require.

A telescopic box, the FEFCO 0300 comprises two almost identical cardboard trays, one slightly larger.
The larger tray acts as a lid when slid over the base, creating a secure and protective closure for the contents of the package. As there is no ‘locking system’ for this FEFCO 0300 box and lid, the box becomes telescopic, meaning the height can be adjusted to fit the chosen contents, providing a snug fit for box contents and reducing the risk of movement and damage.
The FEFCO 0300 combines two trays, one that telescopes over the other to create a secure and adjustable seal. Each box for this design starts as a rectangular piece of cardboard; four cuts are then made to create four foldable sections that act as sides for the box and four tabs that, when connected, form the shape of the box. With a clean, seam-free lid, the FEFCO 0300 creates the perfect space for packaging imagery and printing opportunities.
It is also possible to create a similar box style with two FEFCO 0200 trays; with the slightly different blank design, you would find the seal on top of the box rather than the corners. Although the 0200 is stronger with two layers of cardboard support on the base, depending on the packaging purpose, a FEFCO 0300 would be better suited for design and aesthetic purposes.
FEFCO codes consist of three digits, each representing a specific aspect of the box design, and helping to bring unique codes for all types of suppliers and manufacturers. Here's how to read them:

This FEFCO box requires no specialised tooling for its manufacture. Where this design could be manufactured using a cutting forme, a more cost-effective method would be to use our highly efficient Casemaker machines.
Combining high quality with high speeds, Casemaker machines can produce large quantities with minimal waste, in one pass to ensure a quick lead time, even on custom specifications.
The Box Factory manufactures and ships the FEFCO 0300 flat pack, reducing manufacturing and shipping costs and the required storage space. This box can be manually constructed by taping, stitching (stapling) or glueing the four tabs to the sides of the box to create four corners. Alternatively, it can be fed through an automated erection machine to improve speed and efficiency.
Stackability - The shape of this box and the style of closure make it ideal for stacking; no matter the contents of the package or how the lid sits when the product is enclosed, the box remains a great shape for storage.
Material - The Box Factory offer various corrugation fluting profiles (E, B, C, EB, BC and more) to choose from. Depending on card thickness, whether double or single-walled fluting profile, this offers great impact resistance, strength and protection for your products.
Sustainability - Not only are all The Box Factory’s boxes fully recyclable, but our FSC certification means that we can ensure materials are from recycled or sustainably managed, FSC-certified sources.
Full Flexo Print - Our in-house flexography department is also on hand to add an extra touch of value to your boxes, from a simple brand logo to full coverage print, inside and out. Flexo Printing is cost-effective, and The Box Factory’s ink kitchen allows us to colour-match Pantone codes.
Versatility - All FEFCO codes are customisable to your specific requirements and measurements. However, the FEFCO 0300 is designed to be adjustable post-manufacture to fit products of varying sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of products, from electronics to food and beverages.
